Day 11 of #100daysofscottishlandscapes. Glencoe inspired by @mmjnr83. First washes down tonight. As I was painting I thought about when I started encaustic and how I thought it was a hard medium. I mean…whoever thought up painting with hot beeswax, tree sap and pigments right? Well…Ancient Greece did and they did a lot of crazy inventive stuff but I digress. I think watercolor is the hardest medium by far. I can't scrape it off like beeswax or erase it like pencil or draw over it like pen or felt it like knitting (to hide the holes). I bow down to the master watercolorists.
