Day 11 painting #1, Crater Lake, Oregon inspired by @scott_schmidt24. I needed to fiddle with the water a bit more…wanted a deeper blue in the foreground and added more contrast to the shadows on the snowy sides of the crater. This painting is 8.5”x11” matted and framed. It is available for sale in my gallery (link in profile?) and includes a certificate of authentication. Each painting is lovingly packaged and shipped with care.Fun Fact: In 1870, a child in Kansas named William Gladstone Steel read about Crater Lake in a newspaper. He vowed to visit the lake one day, and finally did in 1885. Steel then made it his mission to have Crater Lake named as a national park, which finally happened on May 22, 1902.#snow #craterlake #craterlakenationalpark #nps100 #centennial @nationalparkservice #nationalparks #findyourpark #goparks #rebeccashapiroart #findyourpark #blue #water #funfact #FYPyes #klamath @saatchiart
