I was invited to be the 2013 Artist in Residence for TEDx ConcordiaU Portland, create a large-scale stage installation and give a TEDx talk about my work and how it related to theme, “Velocity.” My installation was titled “Untangled” and the TEDx talk, “Untangling the Stories, Beliefs & Behaviors that Bind. When I started the project, I was in the process of working through stories, beliefs and behaviors that I realized weren’t true to me. I carried my investigation further, painting these tangled stories and thoughts on 9, 30”x80” panels which hung in a gentle 40’ arc across the stage. Lighting effects changed with each speaker throughout the day to create visual interest.
