I’ve been using this old folding table for my encaustics. It’s great because I don’t care how grubby it gets but the height is too low. It puts strain on my back when I’m working and I get tired sooner than I’d like. I decided to take a tip from my mother who uses leg extenders when she’s displaying her jewelry at trade shows.
To lift up a table you need the older style folding table with bent legs that are about 5″ high. Then cut your PVC pipes to add height to the table – accounting for the 5″ of leg that will sit inside the pipe. My pipe legs are 10 1/2″ long. I also put PVC caps on the ends of my pipes to keep the pipe looking tidy.
Slip the PVC extenders over the table legs and voilà my table gets a leg up.
Now My table is a comfortable 33 1/2″ high, allowing plenty of room for my legs to fit under the table while sitting on the stool.
